Tomorrow. 10am PST. the [ b ] School It's on like Donkey Kong.
You can actually apply now, but we won't be approving applications until the morning.
****FYI... You will receive an email from authorize.net, our credit card processing service saying that your card was pre-authorized for .01 cent, but you have not been charged. Your card will not be charged until we accept your application and your membership has been approved. At that time you'll receive another email from authorize.net with your subscription receipt as well as log in info for the [ b ] school. Thank you.
ATTENTION MEMBERS FROM OUTSIDE OF THE USA: The sign up process makes you choose a state, and there aren't any foreign states available in the pull down menu. Just choose California for now and we will manually change it for you once you are inside. We hope to have this situation rectified shortly.
ANOTHER NOTE: IF YOU ARE USING IE7, You might be having some issues. We are working on it, but you should still consider upgrading to Firefox for free. It's a way better browsing experience.
ALSO: Your If your credit card expires next month, november 2008, you are going to have to use a different card with an expiration date further in the future.
Check out this scan of one of the original sketches I had for the Homeroom of the [ b ] School from many many months ago: |

Here is the quick reference page to find over 130 video shorts that were posted on this blog. I realize some of you were late to the party and perhaps missed out on some of the early posts. You can also subscribe via iTunes and watch them on your Apple TV or iPod if you prefer. Not every entry is reposted here, as some were timely topics that no longer apply. weekly shorts will resume inside of the [ b ] school as well and monthly featured content videos once the classroom is built (hopefully late November or early December)

Hey there folks... I know I said we'd be offering lifetime Private School memberships until the end of the month, but as I suspected, we are going to sell out early. We only have a few spaces left and will we stop offering Private School sometime later today (Tuesday, September 23rd). But don't worry, the rest of you can join us next Wednesday, October 1st and see what all the fuss is about.
(Those folks who contacted me that were affected by Ike, don't fret... I've got your spot reserved... just let me know when you are back online and we can get you in!)
We've already got about 400 active members, a few thousand photos uploaded, 200+ threads in the Student Union Forum (with a couple thousand replies), almost 100 Business and Social Clubs and hundreds of friend connections. Once the doors open to the masses I am confident that you'll find your new home on the web.
Yes, we are still working out a few bugs and massaging the site, but the attitude inside is incredible and I am so stoked on the response so far. Check out a few quotes that we overheard inside: |

Hey all, the site is live at thebschool.com. If you are seeing a splash page, you can empty your cache and refresh.
Please be patient. We got over 100 signups in the first 45 minutes. We are approving people as fast as we can, but you people are signing up faster than we can approve you. Hang tight... this is going to be amazing!
Too all of you folks who are asking why you can only choose the $500 lifetime option, is because right now it is for Private School only. Monthly and Yearly subscriptions go on sale October 1st. I hope to see you then. Thanks, [ b ] |

Well, after much anticipation, it looks like the replacement to the Canon EOS 5D has finally been announced. I bet Canon will sell 1 or 2 of these bad boys. I'll probably get one as a back up to my 1Ds Mark III, but remember folks, better gear doesn't make you a better photographer. If you are starting out, I suggest your money is better spent on branding, a better website, new sample albums, a cool promo DVD... things that can actually help you book jobs. Only buy gear if you absolutely need it, or if you need the tax right offs!

If you didn't get the Private School Details email, it's not too late. Simply send a note to support@thebschool.com and we'll reply with the info!
Just about 48 hours to go!!!! |
